There is some doubt if this is Baillon's Crake or the similar looking Australian Spotted Crake definitely identified as being present at the lake.
Baillon's crake is a little smaller and has a fully banded tail compared the the Australian Spotted Crake which has a whit tipped tail. We believe the bird to be Baillon's Crake but it is not possible to tell from the photos here as the tail is not visible.
